He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Psalm 23:3

Our Restoration Lord

Your healing is our Lord’s delight. The Hebrew word for restore is (Shuwb), Meaning to turn back; return; refresh or repair are some of the descriptions.

I came to know Christ when I was 19 years old through a dream I had…more like a nightmare. My dream was of a grotesque hand, opening a furnace door. I could see inside the furnace. There were people screaming out in pain. It was like a sea of fire with more people than I could count. I woke from that dream with a sense of urgency to make my life right before the Lord. I was anxious and disturbed. This went on for days. I didn’t realize I could just call on Him right where I was. Instead, I suffered with the anxiety for days, before coming to a church service on Sunday. I don’t even remember what was preached that day. I just squirmed in my seat waiting for the altar call. As soon as it was made, I ran to the altar. I threw myself on the altar and asked for forgiveness for my sins. I got up from kneeling and I never looked back again. I was delivered and healed. My heart was renewed and on fire!

The work on the cross brings us back into a right relationship with God so you can demonstrate to the world His strength. David’s declaration of restoration gave him strength and raised his faith. I can see that David was raising his faith by speaking these powerful words of restoration over himself. He was proclaiming the power of God over his life and his circumstance.

We are brought back into a right relationship for “his name’s sake.”

The sheep exist for the shepherd. Not the other way around. We live for Him. To change that would make us idolaters. Idolaters use God for their own benefit. He is called on when trouble comes instead of walking in a consistent relationship.

God’s reputation is on the line by the way His followers live. We are His hands and feet in the world. We are his ambassadors. The world is watching us. We live to bring glory to His name.

You don’t have to wait! You can call on him right now. You can make things right and return to him at this very moment. Restoration can be instant! Will you struggle after that? Yes, but you have a comforter that will walk you through the difficult seasons. We are no longer alone in our journey.

David declared in Psalm 23:4 “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.”

Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all of your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him and he will direct your paths.”

You are not alone.

Declaration today:

Lord, you alone can save me. I am restored because of your work on the cross. I am brought back to a right relationship with you. I don’t have to fear because you are with me. Your rod and staff bring me comfort. You correct those that you love. I will remain in you because you are my strength. I will live to bring glory to you. I am not my own, but purchased with a price. My sins are paid in full. You have restored me fully, lacking nothing. I praise you for redeeming my life from the pit. I love you, Lord. I Love you, Lord! AMEN!
