This week, let’s unite our hearts with a powerful focus: inviting the Lord to fill us, consume us, and reveal His glory in every aspect of our lives (2 Chronicles 7).
In 2 Chronicles 7, we witness the profound moment when God’s glory and fire descend to consume the sacrifice—an awe-inspiring response to Solomon’s obedience. Solomon accomplished what his father David could not: he built a magnificent temple for our God. This teaches us a vital lesson about readiness and obedience. So, I pose a critical question to you: how is your temple? Are you cultivating a dwelling place for the Lord within you? Are you intentionally making space each day for Him to move, speak, and reveal Himself in your life?
For the fire and glory of God to manifest in our lives, we must first create room for His presence.
Solomon’s earnest prayer lays the groundwork for this divine interaction:
“Now arise, Lord God, and come to your resting place, you and the ark of your might. May your priests, Lord God, be clothed with salvation; may your faithful people rejoice in your goodness. Lord God, do not reject your anointed one. Remember the great love promised to David your servant.” (2 Chronicles 6:41-43)
This heartfelt petition was answered with divine fire that consumed the sacrifice and filled the temple with glory. Remember, we are the new covenant temple where God chooses to dwell! What an incredible and sacred responsibility we have to steward His glory within our bodies—the Temple of the Holy Spirit!
What does the Bible affirm about this?
2 Corinthians 6:16-18 says, “For we are the temple of the living God. As God said: ‘I will live in them and walk among them. I will be their God, and they will be my people.’”
Additionally, we must recognize that heartfelt repentance is crucial for experiencing renewal and the consuming presence of the Lord.
2 Chronicles 7:14 reminds us: “If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
The Hebrew word “rapha” speaks to healing—both physical and spiritual—restoring us to wholeness and blessing. The “land” signifies our livelihoods, often impacted by our spiritual conditions.
This calls us to reflect on the spiritual state of our temple. Are we presenting a true reflection of our inner selves? Is your mind cluttered, your spirit in need of nourishment, and your prayer life lacking vitality? Now is the time to conduct a spiritual assessment of your sacred home. What does each room look like? Let’s intentionally declutter and create ample space for the transformative glory of the Lord to envelop us.
**Prayer:**
Lord, help me to be obedient without hesitation. I desire to live a renewed life before you, with a clear mind and a heart focused on You. You are the author and finisher of my faith. Grant me the margin in my life to concentrate more on Your goodness and presence. I love You, Lord. Thank You for guiding me toward a holy life, set apart for You. You are all I need. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
Let’s rise together, make room for His presence, and experience the fullness of His glory in our lives!
Thank you, once again for joining IWM in prayer! We war together!
Love and Blessings!
