Dear Prayer Partners,
Greetings from Cebu, Philippines. I trust this email finds you well.
After resting for about two weeks since I arrived home on February 7th, I met with the volunteer teachers to plan for the monthly Bible lessons for the children’s ministry in Maghaway.
On February 24th, eighty kids came with great anticipation to learn more about God’s Word. It always warms my heart to see and talk to some of the children before the class. They were all excited to see me again! Two little boys told me with pride that they helped the teachers clean and arrange the tables and chairs. Both of them were shorter than I am. I asked them their age and they were already 10 years old. They said it’s what they do in school, too – clean and arrange. I was humbled by their sense of responsibility and their joy in serving to make the children’s center ready for Bible Class.
We had a good interaction about the lesson we learned from the Good Samaritan on loving our neighbors. Two of them volunteered to recite the memory verse found in Matthew 22:39. Workshop time was a little bit chaotic at first. Everyone wants to get their crayons of choice to color the worksheet. We will buy more crayons to use the next time. The class ended with prayer and giving snacks to the children.
